Trekker dreams do come true
In the late 60's I was fascinated by a handheld device called a tricorder or that crew members of "The Enterprise" could do a Bluetooth SAT communication wirelessly from miles away and that data could be accessed by simply asking for it.
This may have something to do with IOS fixation. It's a Trekkers dreams come true using an IPad and IPhone although Jobs and Apple would create a replicator and hologram too
The fact that I can speak to Siri or Bing and Voiceactivator (Cydia hack) and they speak back and respond to me is fascinating to me.
That our company does 100's of dollars in transactions using the free Square app also tickles me and knowing the FDA approves medical apps for IOS devices is certainly a game changer.

Why jailbreak
You add functions to your IOS device when you do so. Is it worth it?
This depends, are simply doing parlor tricks? (look what my IOS device can do) or are you saving 45 to 60 followed a month because you do not need a hotspot or air card for your laptop or tablet device.
There are some great practical applications and you have free range to customize your device in ways that can boggle the mind.
...why jailbreak? Because it's legal and your device.
