    Rhapsody music

I am enjoying the new albums by R Kelly, Ron Isley and Michael Jackson via Rhapsodys 9.99 music service.

All the albums that I want to groove on and unlimited downloads on my Apple mobile devices. R Kelly is impressive!

I recommend Rhapsody for the music lovers, try it free for at least 6 days as an iTunes app download

    Discounted Ipads

This is an excerpt from www.modmyi.com
Engadget is reporting that discount chain T.J. Maxx is currently selling 16GB Wi-Fi iPads for $399 at select stores across the country. Yes, you hear right, $399, a full $100 off the retail price of an iPad at your local Apple Store. It’s not exactly clear how T.J. Maxx and its sister chain Marshalls, is able to discount the iPad so deeply, but for now the price is right.

Face Time on 3G (not wifi)

As I've mentioned before I've hacked my iPhone 4 so it believes it's on wifi thus making Free Face time calls available without using wifi and the quality is very good, my beef with face time is that it uses the speaker phone method to communicate and your conversation are public.

I use monobluetooth SB from Cydia and it allows my jawbone 2 to allow me to have a private conversation. I like the way these two hacker app work together.

    Apple TV nuts and bolts

Apple TV (99.00) has been dissected and broken down and it has a few surprises to me. There is an A4 chip inside (same as the iPad and iPhone 4) it has the same amount of RAM as the Ipad and Iphone 4and has 8 GB of inboard memory.

The Apple TV has been hacked and ported to the Itouch too, so possibilities are infinite. I will keep you posted on my liberation from the tyranny of cable/dish pricing.

Whistlephone and mono bluetooth on the Ipad

I found a great new phone service from Itunes called whistle phone and it is free to download and use. It allows free calls through VOIP and the call quality is very good. My problem is that VOIP on Apple products is crappy until lately. I use mono Bluetooth from the Cydia hacker store. The calls are great and I do not have to resort to the speaker phone to make calls. I use jawbone II as my headset.

A new iPad stylus is out and it is soooo nice! couple this device with shape writer in the Itunes app store and you have a winning combination for the Ipad, especially for those who do not like the virtual keypad or those with long manicured fingernails but love all the other functions of the Ipad. I love shape writer .

    Cutting the cable

I am working very hard to cut the cable using Apple/Mac products and Internet services and I believe in the next 90 days I will have a system to amuse/entertain and inform me at a significant discount. I will have info on 1st year cost and equipment needed. I am also compiling channels that work online that can be viewed on your TV.

I will post reviews and let you know how this works on Macs and Apple mobile products. Placeshifting and time shifting are a major goal of mine. Netflix is a part of my strategy and they have signed another blockbuster deal to bring the best "newest" movies to instant watch. I should save 60.00 a month at least on cable fees.

    Battery Life

The I4's battery life us wonderful and gets me through a typical day. I could not say the same for my original IPhone or the 3G or 3GS I've bought additional chargers and snap on external packs for almost 70 dollars and they worked fine. I had to charge the phone plus the external battery too or use "The Richard Solo" which added to the size of the small and slim IPhone.

I found an alternative that is getting a thumbs up on my old 32GB 3GS it is a Cydia app that puts the IPhone into a radio2G mode when on standby. Its called auto3G and us only 5.99 some users have gotten mixed results but has certainly made a difference by allowing me to get through the day using all the functions on my 3GS. If you use tell me what you think, thanks.

    Whistle VOIP

I had another chance to use Whistles calling service and I liked it a lot. It's a free service that uses wifi to place high quality calls. I have made calls to and from Trinidad, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo all with no costs. They issue a phone number. Push notifications allow you to accept calls while the app runs in the background. This feature costs. It has a great interface and integrates the contacts from your IPhone, you also can do conference calling using the line 1 and line 2 features. I recommend this service if you are an international traveler as they also have low rates for international calling.

    Mapquest app for Iphone

...it's not ready for primetime. To be fair the service is free. If I needed for walking directions it would be a wonderful tool. But the turn directions and accuracy should not be relied upon if you are driving. Directions came somewhat late into the route, which caused missed turns. Once again I endorse Waze free social networking GPS. Mapquest is at the same spot Waze was when it made it's app debut, hopefully Mapquest can improve as well.

    Mediamonkey is back

I am so happy to announce a fantastic software program for Iphone4/I touch and Ipads it's called mediamonkey and is the best music manager. It does not have any fussy rules like Itunes that will attempt to erase your music if it does not like new music added from another source. There is a free version and a paid version. I use the free version. Try it and I know you'll love. I've been using it for years. http://www.mediamonkey.com/

    Skype on the Ipad

The call quality on Skypes Ipad app was very good.I was calling from San Juan to a mobile phone in The U.S. The Ipads built in speaker and microphone with the noise canceling software was great. I did have issues trying to run the program in the background and multitasking on the Ipad (it's possible on the iPhones IOS4) I guess I need to do some more hacking or wait till the multitasking software for the Ipad debuts this fall. A great way to make calls from another country and not fork over a ton of cash to the phone companies.

    Mediamonkey is back, sorta

I have been a fan of this music media manager. A very good iTunes alternative indeed. For the time being it works with Ipods and the latest Ipad 3.2.1

It's not fussy to use and does not wipe out your collection of music simply because you have 3 songs from your friends Itunes collection.
It organizes your music intelligently with album art too.

Support for IOS4 is soon to follow, I endorse this service as an alternate way of managing your music collection.

For PC users only, I'm running PC software on my MAC using parallels software.

    Dragon dictation

Dragons dictation app free in the app store has made some improvements. I like the fact you can integrate your spoken word directly into the texting application with 1 step.

Now you can also send you text to Facebook and Twitter quickly using your voice and with a 2nd tap send anything you say to an email or you have the option to copy it also.

The voice recognition was great but has now been improved, the integrated keyboard helps to correct any mistakes. It's a little quirky but all in all the service is great and I will continue to test and post my findings. Sign up for the daily newsletter to stay on top of my reviews. www.paper.li/iphonefanboy

Skype For iPhone Now Supports Multitasking; Drops Plan To Charge Monthly Fee To Make VoIP Calls Over 3G - iPhone Hacks

    T mobile...really?

CultofMac has published an exclusive report stating that T-Mobile USA is very close to getting the iPhone in the fall.

According to a highly placed source at the wireless company, talks between Apple and T-Mobile are at an advanced stage with an 80 percent likelihood that the T-Mobile will get the device in Q3.

The source works at T-Mobile but asked not to be quoted directly and to remain anonymous because they aren’t authorized to talk to the press. T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom, which carries the iPhone in Germany, was able to influence, the source said. T-Mobile USA is the fourth-largest U.S. carrier with 33.7 million customers.

Although most of the discussion involving another carrier centers around Verizon, some analysts think it would be simpler for Apple to go with T-Mobile given its use of similar cellular technology. Also, Verizon has strongly aligned itself with Google, heavily marketing Android phones, and even mocking Apple and the iPhone. This a reprint from clarified.con

Unlock and jailbreaks. 1 down and 1 to go

Musclenerd and planetbeing AKA David Wang and others have successfully unlocked the iPhone 4 and are very, very close to the jailbreak too. The thoughts are to wait for Apple to release a new software version to fix the signal bar issues and then let the jailbreak goodies fly. If the hackers release now Apple could fix the exploit they use to jailbreak the iPhone 4 and IOS 4 it's a cat and mouse game right now.

I have been reading about the new software release and it may not fix the "death grip" issue and a recall is being rumored because it may be a hardware issue.

    iPad won't replace a laptop

The Ipad will not replace a laptop but it will give a net book a run for it's money.

A laptop has an optical drive to play DVD's and run CD Roms

    A netbook does

A laptop has USB ports and often a webcam

The Ipad does not have these items and with the exception of a webcam for video conferencing these are all pretty old technologies.

Movies are now ripped (using handbrake) and streamed or downloaded (using Vuze) or on demand from Itunes, Hulu plus and Netflix.

The Ipad does have a very useful SD/card and USB adapter that has been proven to work with other devices. I am often traveling at a fast pace all I need to do is grab my Ipad and Iphone4 and their chargers. No need to grab webcams DVD's and USB hubs and flash drives.

Each week better word processing tools are being introduced as an Ipad app such as Icloud, Google docs and Apples trio of apps. I use keynote.

I love the fact that I need not remove my device as I clear TSA checkpoints and 10 plus hours of battery life is better than my old Asus/Acer net books. Logmeins free service clinches the deal by letting access my Mac from my Ipad with full function minus the audio and Gotomypc's service as the audio for about 170.00 a year.

If You are using the iPad with built in 3G you have a fine GPS system too and the voip applications make using the iPad a wonderful tool for conference calling too, but I suggest an AD2P Bluetooth. No need to take your Kindle simply transfer all your books to the Kindle app.

Nope it won't replace one but you will notice that you will rarely have to take a laptop with you while on the road and you can leave a lot more devices at home.

    Waze GPS

The free service by Waze has improved quite a bit since it's introduction almost a year ago. Last week I was in San Francisco and my Tom Tom had a 4.0 update so
in an attempt to improve the service I began the update and went to bed. I woke in the morning and it still had not updated and I really wanted to use on the Iphone 4 because I was renting a zip car for the day. I remembered I had downloaded Waze and put it to use and it performed admirably because I was on some real backroads going to Muir and Stinson Beaches. The spoken word portion was one time and accurate. I left Muir Beach and arrived on Lombard street without a hitch. For a free app that functions well I endorse it.

    First IPhone Impressions

Beautiful! Relatively speaking with regards to my 3GS this is an evening shot from balcony and this night photo and clarity were once impossible with my old IPhones. The flash is great and the 5 megapixels is wonderful. I am aware of Droids 8 megapixel smartphone but this does the job for me. I can turn off the auto-flash if I desire and I'm also able to take self portraits easily using the front facing camera too. You will enjoy the camera.

Great for iPad wifi users and those who have the itouch. You can access the database with no connection which makes all the sense in the world for the 2 devices I mentioned and it is free. Measure your data usage

If you tether your signal to your Ipad and want to stay on top of your data usage then the FREE MyWireless app in the iTunes store is your best friend.

I use the Iphone to tether to my home Mac and to the Ipad and originally for my iPhone too. I am on the unlimited plan and in day 21 of a 31 day cycle I have used 789 megabytes, 1000 MB's equal a Gigabyte.

AT&T's fair use rule (fine print) defines unlimited data at 5 Gigabytes.

I use the Ipad to stream movies my home DVD collection( using stream to me) use sling media and more and I am still under my limit by a bunch.

The new data plan is one "I" would stay away from. I'll pay the 5.00 more to have unlimited vs. 2 GB and 10.00 for every GB thereafter.

The plans change after June 7 for new users or those opt out for the new 24.99 plan or 200 MB for 15.99. Read my earlier postings on Facebook.

    Improving Ipad usability

Well it's not a mystery that you can connect your Apple wireless keyboard to your Ipad or buy the keyboard dock pad for those long tedious entries and give it more of a netbook/laptop feel but now when your Ipad is hacked (and mine is) you are able to add a wireless mouse to the Ipad also. I use the new mighty Mouse from Apple.

Next I will be testing a Bluetooth earpiece software to be used with truphone and Skype to make calls while doing business on the Ipad. This tool will be great for cheap/free calls to other countries as well as local calls and multitasking while having the mobility to move around your office hotel or home without carrying your Ipad

Also if you are in a great WiFi area but a crappy AT&T area.

Skype Out provides you with a separate number for your business and ads that you may run on. eBay or websites.

The Skype fee is cheaper than using you minutes.

Are you ready to hack your Apple device?

    Healthy apps

I personally believe many companies exploit issues of weight and beauty, so love yourself wholeheartedly; but if you desire to the best you there are some great tools for iPhone/Ipad/Itouch devices that harmonize your goals.

1st App is Lose it and is free in the app store, this program builds a profile on you based on birthdate, gender, height, current weight desired weight you want to achieve OR maintain and will give you a date that your goals will be met if you use your calorie budget that Lose it provides. Eat a pack of skittles and that is 830 calories by itself...wow!

Next is WW Mobile which is also free in the app store and is very interactive using the points system it allowed to visually build a pizza and interactively add toppings to it while adding a points value.

And lastly is "Eat This Not That" 4.99 in the app store which lists most grocery store foods and fast-food restraunts and shows which Burger is best and grades them A thru F and gives you the calorie count too.

I believe that these 3 tools can help maintain your weight this summer or assist you into reaching goals you have for yourself. Take your Ipad to the Market and compare info about healthy alternative choices because most supermarket name brands are in Lose It.

Enjoy it and tell me what you think, plus forward this article to others.

Google and Skype as posted by Lifehacker.com

Set Google Voice as Your Skype Caller ID
A Google Voice number, one that rings all your phones, makes good sense as the caller ID number for outgoing Skype calls. Google Voice blocked the verification SMS that Skype needed until recently, but Google's flipped the switch and made it convenient.

John, a Lifehacker reader and fan of Google Voice and Skype, tipped us off to a tweet from a Google Voice team member that indicated the Google Voice/Caller ID setup now works. You'll have to respond to the SMS sent to your Google Voice number, but once you do, people you call with Skype's "Skype Out" service won't see a random string of digits, but a number they can actually call you back on.

For all those wondering - you just go into your skype account [secure.skype.com] and set the number in the Caller ID section.

I will test this out on my Ipad and see how useful it is and post my findings at www.powerinyourfist.com and Facebook too

Zip car, Gps and Steve Jobs

Okay today I am on my way to the "Tech Mecca" the Apple headquarters in Cupertino with my Apple homeboy/coworker Chad.

We are driving there using a zipcar and I must admit it is Apple friendly with Ipod connectors and charger for multiple MP3 players. I am also using the Tom Tom car kit and Gps service too.

There is an app for the Zipcar that supposedly unlocks the car (didn't work for) but it did locate the car for me and I made the reservation and chose my car too. No deposit, insurance is paid and they buy the gas. I am giving away free driving on my site at powerinyourfist.com

I will post picks and info from Apple headquarters via Facebook.

Chad emailed Steve Jobs and asked him too meet us at the store too ( Big ones!)

We are here Steve did not meet us but we had a great time and it was a beautiful drive.

    Moving music files

I have found and used a great service to move music from one Mac/PC Itunes library from to another and it is called Pod to Mac and it is great if you use the older version. 3.0.3

I tried the new version with no luck at all, redownloaded a few times and it did not recognize my devices.

So I was directed to a link from my friend Sydney and it works like a charm
    http://mac.brothersoft.com/pod-to-mac-download.html

Grow your library and share I love this service. Do not upgrade because it does not work for some reason.it's easy and supple to use. 3.0.3 is free and they do make a PC version too

Using Mi-Wi to save 490.00 the 1st year

I bought the Wi-Fi Ipad with only the Internet connection vs. waiting for the Wi-Fi + 3G Ipad with the 14.95 or 30.00 a month plan because I am able to use my Iphone to transfer my signal to the Ipad. The service works well with all the basic apps.
Streaming video from Netflix is a little buggy but everything else is great.

I monitor my data usage by using the app My Wireless to make sure I stay under my 5 Gigabytes (AT&T's definition of unlimited data) and thus far between both devices I've used 2,750 megs of data. 1000 Megs = 1 GIgabyte so I am Okay.

Using the Iphone to tether my Ipad has advantages
    1) I did not have to pay an extra 130.00 for the device

    2) I am able to easily make calls from my Iphone via Bluetooth and still access the Ipad.

I can use my headset and make calls outside the U.S.on the Ipad

    3) I save as much as 360.00 a year on the Ipad data plan.

Be reasonable and stay under the 5Gigs of data and enjoy the device if your device is not enabled call me and we can install Mi-Fi which can only be used on jailbroken Iphones.

Follow me on Twitter and Facebook too.

    Alice For the iPad

    Alice For the iPad

    Left out in the cold

Well the new Iphone OS will be here by summer and it is pretty spectacular when I took a 2nd look at it...but 1st generation Iphone users and those using the basic Iphone 3G are left out in the cold. The new OS will not work for your phones.
They want you to upgrade and buy the newest Iphone (my theory) but there is a solution "ME". I have been performing many of the OS 4 services on all Iphones for years including multitasking. I can also set you up for tethering to a device like the Ipad. Tethering can save you 360.00 a year vs. Only having the Wi-Fi version or opting for the Wi-Fi + 3G service which is 30.00 for unlimited data. (they also have 14.95 plan) 256 MB's

So if you want some of the essential 4.0 services and are not ready to spring for the new device via upgrade then contact me for your options.

Thanks for visiting and tell others about this blog and look for me in Facebook or Twitter.

    Opera Mini

The browser is now live in the app store. I will review and test the browser Tuesday and make a report later that evening at first glance it is smoking fast rendering pages and slower in other ways I will explain later. I can't wait to test this on the Ipad.

    IPhone O S 4.0

Again I am a little disappointed with the release simply because I have been multitasking and using folder and background apps for awhile, years actually. It will be interesting to see if the battery life is improved with their 4.0 software. If your device is "clean" you will have access to these cool features.

Drag and drop folders allow you to simply drag and drop your apps into organized folders.

Run Pandora and send emails at the same time

    Play games while using voip

Better mail service with quicker switching between multiple accounts.

iBooks is also coming similar to the app stores service "classics"

1st gen iPhone and Itouch users you are left out in the cold also multitasking will only work on 16 and 32 GB 3G and 3G if you have a 8 GB 3rd gen oops you are getting no love either.

You can always see me and I will remedy all those problems. The iPhone/Itouch software arrives this summer and in the Fall for the Ipad.

    Starbucks and ATT hotspots

I made a visit to Starbucks today and wanted to see if I could connect easily to their hotspot and I must let you know that I have ATT DSL (non phone) service. I fired up the hotspot and it said connect: username/password
I used my ATT.net username and password and voilà I was online and the password reminder software kicked in that is built into 3G, 3GS and the Ipad ( must be turned on) now I can log on any time with no problem. Keep in mind my Iphone is jailbroken and also functions as a wireless hotspot too. For times when thier is no hotspot. The test was incomplete from the standpoint that I wanted to try all the other type of login services such as Boingo that test is coming soon. The speed was quick and I had no Wi-Fi issues.

TSA: iPads and other eReaders don’t need to be removed from bags during security screening
Wed, Apr 7, 2010 | by Tim BradburyiPad

If you travel a lot, you know just how much of a hassle it can be to get through airport security. At many larger airports this means removing your shoes, belt, and sweatshirt, in addition to dealing with crying babies, whining kids, and grumpy passengers, and on top of that, removing your laptop from its bag.
Luckily, for all you iPad owners out there, the TSA has decided that eReaders, including the iPad, do not need to be removed from their respective cases and can be sent through the X-ray machine just like any other article.
According to a TSA blog post (yes, they have a blog,)

    IPad coverage and protection

Maximum security and Mobile me and insurance for the Ipad.
Maximum security is a 99 cent app that alerts you if you lay your Ipad down and someone picks it up. The iPad goes nuts vibrating lights flashing and a loud alarm goes off and it can only be turned off by a code. It looks ominous from the start with an area sensor sweeping image.
Mobile me (cheaper through Amazon than the Apple store) tracks down my device via google maps, allows me to post a return for reward number on the lockscreen, emits an audible finder signal and if all else fails I can kill all the data on the device.

You can also insure your device against theft and damage too Square Trade (2 years for drops and spills 95.99) and Worth Ave Group(69.00 a year) offer solutions. Worth Ave group covers cracked screens, theft, vandalism, fire, flood, natural disasters and power surge due to lightning.

Well I'm covered and when the jailbreak comes out there are some really cool hacker protection programs that are stealth and highly effective.

Rhapsody is better and will soon be magnificent

I have used Rhapsody on the Iphone since it 1st arrived in the app store and enjoy it. I discover a lot of NEW music this way and 15.00 a month for an unlimited library was "just OK"
This is the new business model for music it is access vs. Ownership listen to it anytime you like, provided you have an Internet signal.
The service works well on all my devices at home and on the road and is a joy on the Ipad.
Rhapsody split from and is a standalone company and the price is now 10.00 with a 2 week no cost trial in the app store.
More changes are coming. Rhapsody is working on an offline model to play your music on a plane or in a situation where you can not access the Internet.
A great service. I now have a Faith Hill, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith and Queen collection next to all my Gospel, funk, soul, reggae and jazz collection. Music brings Joy retrospect and peace. Never has 10.00 gone so far, I recommend Rhapsody.

First impressions of Wi-Fi only Ipad

I have had some time to tinker with the Ipad and enjoy it as it is from the box. I am making calls via Skype and Truephone with nice call clarity. I am in fact blogging now from the Ipad. I am using the iPhone to broadcast real time images and have a hybrid camera software that is not bad for a 1st version software, video chat is not far behind. Netflix quality is great. The device is a handful at 1.5 pounds but I will get used to it. It is great for day to day task and in that respects replaces my Acer netbook. Things are snappy, crisp and quick. You simply think of something and it happens. I will be excited to connect the Apple wireless keyboard to it via Bluetooth and once it is jail broken the real fun begins such as using my Jawbone Bluetooth while using Skype via a free hacker program called MonoB. Most of the games designed specifically for iPhone/Itouch worked well BUT looked a little grainy in large mode. Scrabble was fantastic and blackjack was rendered better in the smaller mode. The device is great for doing quick things making a voice memo or keeping organized through the beautiful calendar program. Maybe you need to send or read an Email quickly or print some documents from the wireless printer app. All in all it is a marvelous day to day device and that's just the first 48 hours. I see the device as a blank slate of paper that app designers and the hacker community will have a field day with. I also love the fact that I can use Boingo Wi-Fi service as a roaming partner at no charge because I have Att DSL service at home.

    Grooveshark follow up

Patience is a virtue with regards to Grooveshark.
Here is the good, It works!
You search a growing database of music and BAM! You have it.
You can play "your" music offline by choosing to make it available in offline mode. I uploaded a copy of my entire music library to Grooveshark too.
The bad: quirky controls and it takes forever to upload a large library to Grooveshark and THEN you can only access that library from your Iphone if you designate the songs as favorites (complete access to library from a Flash enabled device)
This is an early version and I only look for the service to improve over time.

Posted from my Iphone, how ya like me now?

    Flash and Apple

I have been using Grooveshark and appreciating it more and more each week. But it is a Flash site and unless you have jailbroken your Iphone you are out of luck same with the new ad based music service from Australia guevera.com.
This is what is apparent to me you have to buy music and movies from Apples Itunes. Also games and multimedia too. Hulu and fancast are a no-go on the Apple mobile devices. Coincedence or by design? Please comment.

    Testing I Call

I am always searching for new tech breakthroughs and I may have found a Gem for the Ipad. As you know there is no Phone on The Ipad. Skype should work nicely for a subscription price of about 3.00 a month you get 10,000 minutes of calling a month to anywhere in the USA and Canada and for a few dollars 40.00 a year you get a phone number too. Enter Icall, you get unlimited calling in the US at 5 minute chunks. Inbound access numbers let you receive incoming calls to your iCall phone app, even if you haven't purchased your own personal phone number. Just tell people to call an access number that is listed on thier website and calls are routed to your device or the free voice mail. I tested the service on my Iphone with it airplane mode but the Wi-Fi running and my calls were placed with "good" voice quality. they have an unlimited calling option for 9.95 a month that adds many nice new features. They give you a free trial of the premium features tell me what you think. A very nice Ipad option.

    Yahoo! introduces Sketch-a-Search iPhone app

    Yahoo! introduces Sketch-a-Search iPhone app

    Google Voice and unlimited calling

I have been tweaking my Google Voice service and I love it so much. If you have a calling circle plan such as AT&T "A list" simply add your google voice number to it. Now all your calls placed from Google voice are free, The hows and whys will boggle your mind so I suggest you watch the youtube explanation of Google Voice. an invite button is at the bottom of this post

I have been using the jailbroken GV mobile app to place my calls which is in Cydia, it has a few bugs in it. I always have to enter my user name and password, what a drag. But today on my Iphone I typed in google.com/voice and pressed the + sign on the bottom of my Iphone safari browser and then elected the add to Home screen button. Now I can place calls and send free text messeges from the Iphone bypassing GV Mobile app. my password and user name is stored, my voicemails are transcribed so I can read them or play them from the Iphone safari browser because I am using the jailbroken app safari download plugin. If making unlimited calls and having a distinct number for business or naughtiness (the players and Playettes know who they are) then this service is a must have. You have to wait anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks for Google to send an invite to you.Enjoy and as always I am here to guide you through the jailbreking process and offer 90 days of tech support. click on the google voice Call me button at the top of my Blog for help.

    Orb is free and phenominal

Okay Orb is a fantastic feature that I loved on my PC and missed when I went to the 24 inch I mac. That service is ORB and you can try it free or buy the full version in the Itunes store for 9.99 (try it free) it is a great tool to access all your music, videos and photos PLUS with a "PC" tuner you can watch live TV (I have to try TV on the Mac soon). It almost eliminates the need for devices like sling media player as well as monthly fee software like sugar sync and simplify media. build your library add an external drive and be media happy. Your Mac/PC must have an always on connection and you need to download the software for your Mac or PC as well as the Itunes app store software.

    No Ipad video

I am a little upset about the Ipad not having a camera BUT there is a theoretical work around.
If you can capture an image with the apps Qik or Fring which has a 1 sided video chat and work on the Ipad and feed it to the Ipad using software, problem solved. But how do you create this hack to feed the image via USB or Bluetooth I'm working on it. Do you have any suggestions? I'd love to hear them

    Free WiFi

No fee Wi-Fi is on the increase according to Roger Yu of the USA today. Great news for those buying Ipads with the wifi only connection. The list of airports are Houstons Bush airport, which offers 45 minutes at no charge but you have to watch ads. Other airports are Denver, Seattle, Boston and Las Vegas to name a few. I will be using Boingo's wifi service for 9.95 a month and I have augmented the Iphone software to feed a signal to my Ipad too.
Apple says the Ipad will have access to AT&T's hotspot network as well, which may negate me using Boingo. There are apps to show you free Wi-Fi hotspots by default in the Itunes app store too.
Let me know which Ipad you will buy and if you want to have your Iphone augmented to become a signal router.

    I love Grooveshark

I love Grooveshark when it comes to listening to music. I am a VIP member at 3.00 a month for all the music I want. there are a few things that make this work on the Iphone it must be jailbroken ( Apple rejected this app from the Itunes App store) you will find this service in Cydia. You will need to be a VIP member at 3.00 a month or 30.00 for the year. It also only works on Wi-Fi unless you use "Unrestrictor3G" that is also in Cydia. Unrestrictor3G fakes out the Iphone into thinking it is always on WiFi. you can also upload your Music into Grooveshark as a way to take your collection on the road with you and save space on your Iphone/Itouch. Here is the coolest part you can save your music to play when you are offline. I will do more tests and make findings known. The possibilities are virtually endless when an expert jailbreaks your Iphone and offers years of experienced followup technical support.

    Multitasking on Iphone

if this is not incentive enough to have your Iphone Jailbroken or "Purified", I do not know what it will take. It is in the Cydia store

The service is called proswitcher and it is an awesome program when it comes to multitasking with your most frequently used applications and behaves like the PalmPre Plus system. It is simple and eloquent at the same time and it is a free. Let me know when you are ready to "purify" your Iphone.

    Google voice strikes again!

Google and HTML5 put together a beautiful web application. Just awesome and free texting too. still experimenting with this web app and AT&T A list unlimited calling. it seems their have been a change to the callout number you will need to put that number into your A list too. The service connected my call instantly vs. the jailbreak hack in Cydia by Sean Kovacs (it's slower) and it is free PLUS no need for any type of jailbreak needed for this 2nd line service from Google. My call was clear as a bell and free SMS service has got to make you smile, try it and tell me what you think by posting a comment or using the Google call me feature on the top of this blog.

    newest Iphone firmware

3.1.3 came out about a week ago and I have cautioned all my followers to hold off until a substantial update rolls around, besides many who have legitimately updated have had battery issues and other issues too. Be patient and wait and if you cant wait there is a hack already unless you are on 3GS or using a company other than ATT. There are some good things to speak of in the app store such as Burglar alarm free in the app store. No one will ever try to pickup and snoop or take your Iphone without you knowing it again. I will keep you posted on firmware updates. NEVER update unless you speak with me 1st

    The Ipad Cometh

    The Ipad has landed
It is time to get hacker busy.
The Apple Ipad has a starting price of 499 for wifi only (they have a plus GSM) version too for a higher price to be released in 90 days. The WiFi version will be in my hands, er the shelves in 60 days. For now I will talk about the wifi version which uses built in WiFi with free access with AT&T partners like Starbucks and McDonalds. It is reported to run most Iphone apps, hopefully Boingo will be one unlimited hotspots at 1000's of locations for 9.95 a month.
Also I pray that the jailbroken app MyWi in the Rock store will be able to power the Internet via my jailbroken Iphone. This is a great reason to purify your Iphone by jailbreaking it. What are you views on this, comment and let me know or use the call feature at the top of my blog.

    The 27th of January

There will be a new product update of some sorts, I'm hoping it is an Apple tablet.
There are rumors galore so here is my take on things. There has been nothing new as far as Iphone firmware is concerned lately. If the device uses a new Iphone OS then develpers would have it by now (hackers too) or maybe it will run a Mac OS or they will introduce a super Iphone OS...say a 4.0.
Hard for me to see normal apps working on a largerr screen, if the tablet runs an Iphone OS at all.
And will we finally see tethering via the Iphone to power the tablet or in addition to wifi will you have to pay for a tablet data plan? AT&T can't handle it so would this baby be powered by Verizon, stay tuned.
